The ESCL has three categories of membership:
- Full members
A Full Member is a national non-profit organization in the field of construction law from a country within Europe. A Full Member may take part in the General Assembly and vote at the General Assembly. There may only be one Full Member per country.
Members are those who applied by letter to the General Assembly and were admitted by the General Assembly. This is evidenced by a statement issued by the General Assembly.
Only national (European) societies of construction law can become ESCL members. In other words, individuals are not eligible to become members of the ESCL. However, everybody is very welcome to attend the annual ESCL conferences which are open to the public.
Individuals may want to become a member of the respective national Society of Construction Law (SCL) in their country. For the contact information of the SCLs which are member more info can be found on the section Member Societies of the ESCL website.
- Corresponding members
A Corresponding Member is a national non-profit organization in the field of construction law from a country outside Europe or a non-profit organization in the field of construction law from a country within Europe that is not a Full Member. A Corresponding Member may attend but not vote at the General Assembly. There may be more than one Corresponding Member per country. - Associate members
An associate member or also called Friend of the ESCL is a natural person or a non-profit organisation recognized by the Society and having an interest in construction law. An Associate Member may take part in the General Assembly, but may not vote.
